Cynthia Hillis McBride

Cynthia did everything but paint after studying art at the University of Houston and the University of Texas in Austin. She married, had children and pursued a career with the Houston Post and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines as an Account Executive. Upon retirement Cynthia and her husband moved to Colorado where she discovered a love of Plein Air painting and renewed a long time interest in figurative painting. Cynthia continues to do figurative work, as well as landscapes at home and in her travels.
She is a member of Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, The American Impressionist Society and Plein Air Painters of Colorado. Cynthia's figurative work has been shown in several international competitions and shows: "Women Painting Women" at Principle Gallery, Charleston, SC, "Salon International" in San Antonio, TX at the Greenhouse Gallery and at the Legacy Gallery in "Scottsdale Salon of Art" in Scottsdale, AZ. Her landscapes have been in many shows: the High Plein Air Arts Festival sponsored by the Denver Golden Triangle Museum District, Nomades del Arte, at Southwest Gallery in Dallas Texas, Estes Park Plein Air at the Earthwood Gallery, as well as at Hunter-Wolff Gallery in Colorado Springs and Abend and Saks Galleries in Denver, Colorado.
Due to family situations and commitments Cynthia has taken a break from painting. Look for her new work here again soon.
